Downtown Dunn

We are a historic town on the verge of explosive growth. Come join us!

Dunn is a North Carolina Main Street Community, designated by the N.C. Department of Commerce Main Street & Rural Planning Center. Downtown Dunn Development Corporation is charged with administering the program at the local level and building public-private partnerships to spur economic development that achieves measurable results such as investment, business growth, and job creation.

Our Town

Starting off originally being named 'Lucknow' and then changing to 'Dunn' followed the Civil War battle of nearby Averasboro, Dunn is the birthplace of rock and roll musician Link Wray and to Major General William Lee, the father of the United States Army's Airborne forces, who commanded the 101st Airborne Division (the "Screaming Eagles") during World War II.

Our Vision

Historically a center of agricultural business Dunn has recreated itself numerous times to include manufacturing, banking, and a burgeoning tourism scene. We look to continue evolving into a modern hub of business, entertainment, recreation and relaxation for our surrounding communities & visitors.
